Brilliant strimmer for starters. Fun, but READ the SAFETY leaflet before anyone uses it.
Perfect for cutting thick weeds/thistles/nettles/ivy/grass plus lots more. Long cable (Over 16 feet / 5 metres) Great weight, brilliant reach with the extending arm. Very good build quality from Black and Decker. SAFETY leaflet inside the box, READ IT and UNDERSTAND it before you use this strimmer. Really good power, light to use but do take breaks when you start off if you a new to this. Very easy to manoeuvre. Real easy to assemble. I really enjoyed using it. The strimmer line included was really good. This strimmer was great for me. Brilliant for what I needed to do. Grass strimming and numerous weed strimming as mentioned above. Some light tree branches were also no problem for it. It is not a silent motor so I needed to be aware of the time when I used it. Although it is much quieter that those revving petrol ones. I would recommend this strimmer.

Terrific Black & Decker Strimmer
I have used countless strimmers over the years and this is by far the best to date. It is well made and very easy to use. Not too heavy and it can tackle even the longest grass and the toughest weeds ! It arrives with just the handle and guard to fix which takes just a few minutes to sort out. This strimmer is also great at edging lawns. The strimmer line is a breeze to fix on the strimmer, just remove the empty spool and the new strimmer line takes literally seconds to fix into place. I use this strimmer to maintain a small field and it manages the job perfectly. Just take my advice and always wear gloves if you have a lot of strimming to do, as it avoids those nasty blisters on your hands ! Excellent value for a great strimmer.

Good in places.
Tackled my lawn for the first time this year, also my first use of the new B&D strimmer. I have been mowing the same lawns for more than five decades, giving my age away here. I reckon that this is at least the fifth strimmer that I have used over this time, so I can speak with some degree of experience. The first thing that I noticed was the weight of this machine, this was the heaviest that I have used. I soon noticed the second negative point. The cable fitted was shorter by quite a few meters than any of the others used previously, quite disappointing as for the first time I was obliged to use an extension cable. B&D are scrimping here. I then used it for edging the lawn as suggested. This was another minus for me, I found it extremely difficult to use for this purpose. In my humble opinion it could be regarded as a gimmick and not practical due in part to its weight and awkwardness in handling. On a more positive note, it was more powerful than any of my previous machines and did the task required as a strimmer successfully. In summing up, I would recommend this machine to a much younger and stronger person than myself. Not for an old timer like me!

A very good strimmer for the price.
Had quite a few strimmers in the past and they've always been unreliable, either with a poor feed mechanism, a lack of power or cheap crappy plastic gears that soon strip. This one so far is working well (it's actually the second I've bought, because I was so impressed with the first one I bought a year before for a different location). Cuts and edges well and the guidance wheel is a useful addition. Seems powerful enough for the average garden and the line feed is working well - haven't had to manually intervene once yet. A really good price too. Maybe Black & Decker are on the up again - after years of avoiding their products due to bad experiences, this one is a winner.

Great little strimmer
This B&D strimmer was 1 of 2 purchased, it's cousin was a larger and more powerful but not nearly so good. I have never rated B&D for anything and both were purchased in desperation, up to that point I knew little of strimmers. It was a very large gardening area and seriously overgrown, while its larger cousin was a real pain to use with continues breakages and a line head cap that proved so difficult to remove when changing the line, the B&D A530, what a goer, just motored on, it didn't handle everything under it but strimmed a lot more then it should, I was so impressed, amazed in fact. The replacement line was an Amazon purchase and sold by EYERAYO, 2mm x 50m red line cord. I purchased 150m of it and went through 110mbut it was a huge area even for 2 strimmers. Due to my inexperience I used the wrong type of strimming head, reading the product details I thought when it stated " 30cm cutting swath " I thought this meant, length of line that will do the strimming, wrong!, this measurement simply means width of the line cover shield, the actual length of line involved was about 100mm only. The best analogy I can come up with for the area involved, it was like cleaning latrines with a tooth brush but it did it so well, the perseverance was worth it. It is not a professional strimmer, it's for domestic use. I still don't rate B&D but this strimmer went way beyond its call of duty. Its larger cousin had to be returned, it became impossible to use, Amazon refunded.

Love black and decker
Trusted brand for a reason, this strimmer is great. Why did you choose this product over others?: Great experience using other black and decka stuff previously. Value for money: was on sale for £45 when i got it. Great price considering is a solid product Power: more than ample Effectiveness: not a flimsy strimmer. Manages overgrown grass easily. Ease of assembly: Instructions are clear

Works well.
I purchased this strimmer to replace my current one that had let the magic smoke out! It was about 18 years old so couldn’t grumble. As I had had good use I stuck with B&D for it’s replacement. The motor is almost twice the power of its predecessor and handles my grass with ease, the auto line feed is a real bonus! On the down side, it has a woefully short mains lead. When you consider it’s use is in the garden 6 mtrs of cable is pretty useless. The previous strimmer had 12 mtrs and this was just sufficient to do my lawns. Apart from the cable, which will shortly get replaced with the one from the old machine, I can recommend this strimmer for a small to medium property, unfortunately, you will need an extension cable!!
