Lovely soap and natural worth buying for your health.

Yes it has the distinctive smell, but I've got used to it fairly quickly. Gentle for body, gentle for face, gentle for my child's skin too. We feel very clean after use. We started using this instead for shampoo and the effect is outstanding. My child has very fine and long long hair and they get tangled very very badly all the time. This soap significantly reduced the tangles, and her hair is becoming supple and does not feel dry at all. My hair has been dry for a good couple of years and couldn't brush it through to the tip without tugging and pulling. Now there is no problem brushing, plus the embarrassing smell of scalp (and body) is completely gone after less than a week of use this. I am very happy and I definitely keep buying this soap from now on. Update: I stopped to use this as shampoo everyday but 1-2 times a week since I start feeling the hair is getting bit heavier than I like. Still working like magic.

I have been using Savon de Marseille soap for a few years for health reasons to cut down on toxins I use in my home and on my body, and also not to pollute the environment. It is a French soap with just a few natural ingredients, mainly olive oil, so there are no parabens, sulphates, sls, perfume etc. The natural scent of this soap can be quite strong, I don't mind it, and the smell does diminish with use. They call it a wonder soap as it is pure and gentle, soothing for sensitive skin. I find it very moisturising on my skin. It looks great on display in my bathroom, and it lasts for a very long time. I've bought Marseille soaps on other online soap stores but it was expensive so I thought I'd try these. There was no fuss packaging although one was a little dented in transit but I'm happy with the price and my purchase.

This is wonderful, natural soap made with olive oil and a total of just seven natural ingredients - no perfume, no animal fat.

Smells like rubber and disgusting chemicals. Marseille soap should never smell like this.

I’m fortunate enough to have visited the Marius Fabre factory/store in France and their products are superb. I absolutely adore olive oil soap. It’s all I use on my body and face - it really is fantastic for the skin. I’m so pleased I can buy it at such a reasonable price on Amazon. The smell won’t be to everyone’s taste but I love it and I would highly recommend this to anyone (make sure it’s the 72% oil one), so natural and high quality. I do also buy Greek oil soaps but this Marius Fabre one is the best!

I was really excited to try this soap due to the outstanding reviews, no only on Amazon but across the internet. First off, let me say that the shipping was fast and I felt, for the size of the soap, the price was fair. The soap lathers well and rinses beautifully clean without leaving that "stretched skin" feeling of dryness. A definite plus! I use this for my face as well as my body and, for someone who has the most sensitive of skin and has suffered from acne and allergic reactions my entire adult life, it is rare that I am able to find a product that is this multipurpose. Now for why I only gave this soap 3 stars. Unfortunately, I can't get past the smell. Perhaps the bar I received was wrong or had gone off somehow because I don't see others mentioning this smell that often but I just can't deal with it. My husband grew up on a farm and was quick to agree with my observation that this soap smells like a barnyard. Not like animal excrement but the earthy, pungent, aroma of dirt, wet straw, animals. It is not a smell that bothers me when I am on the farm but it is NOT something I want to smell in my shower and certainly not something I want to smell like AFTER I've cleaned myself! As I said, perhaps the soap I got was from a bad batch, but, if this is what the soap usually smells like I will not be ordering it again. A shame seeing as otherwise, this is a lovely soap.

This is very nice soap apart from the smell which is not entirely unpleasant but slightly unusual. I am used to using French soap which is much better quality than UK soap but generally I buy perfumed soap direct from the factory. However having said that I would not hesitate to recommend this soap as it is lovely on the skin and lathers very well.

Der Geruch verfliegt relativ schnell. Ich nutze die Seife zum Hände waschen, zum Abwaschen, zum Duschen und um in der Küche hartnäckige Fettfilme zu entfernen ( Abzugshaube). Dafür funktioniert sie wirklich sehr gut. Eine Papierverpackung wäre noch ein Verbesserungsvorschlag.

Hace mucha espuma y lava muy bien, lo que no me gusta es el olor, yo pensé que tendría ese perfume como los jabones de la abuela y resulta que huele a keroseno. Por lo demás muy bien deja las manos suaves y la ropa también, pero el olor no me gustaría.

Dieses Original ist ein absoluter Allrounder! Für Kenner "stinkt" die Seife nicht - sie wurde einfach nur ohne jede Zusatzstoffe hergestellt - daher auch ohne Parfum. Daher riecht sie trocken ein wenig wie Kernseife - aber nicht auf dem Körper! Benutzt man sie als Duschbad, wird man sauber wie nie zuvor, sie wirkt sogar rückfettend wg. des Olivenöls. Zusätzliches Eincremen ist nicht mehr nötig. Wenn man danach ein gutes Parfum benutzt, riecht man endlich nur sich und den Duft - bzw. das Parfum kann endlich seine eigene Note auf der Haut entfalten. Die Seife eignet sich - großzügig aufgetragen - perfekt zur Rasur (Gesicht und Körper) und zur Gesichtsreinigung. Wasserfestes Makeup lässt sich problemlos entfernen. Ich benutze danach immer noch ein Tonic und schließe die Poren mit einer Pflegecreme. Ich empfehle diese Seife jedem, der seinen Körper ohne Zusatzstoffe reinigen und pflegen möchte. Bis vor 15 Jahre war ich - gefühlt - die beste Kundin einer großen Parfümeriekette, bis ich auf diese Seife stieß. Die ersten 6 Wochen waren hart für Haut und Haare, Irritationen, Pickel und weitere Unreinheiten traten auf, aber seitdem schwöre ich auf genau diese Savon de Marseille. Mein Hautbild und meine Poren haben sich absolut verfeinert. Ich schneide den Block mit einem heißen Messer in 4 Teile, dann ist er handlicher. Die Seife begleitet mich immer, insbesondere in Zeiten von Corona, jetzt, da die eigene Haut vor lauter Händewaschen weint. Handgeknüpfte Teppiche werden damit nicht nur sauber, sondern rein. Wolle und Walkwaren lassen sich ebenso super schonend reinigen, wie die Microfaser Couch oder der versiegelte Parkettboden. Ich kann sie nur bestens empfehlen - aber bitte nur das Original erwerben.
