Improved version of the Weber Smokey Joe
This is the perfect travel grill, and includes some creature comforts that are missing from the Weber Smokey Joe. First off, it's slightly larger than the Smokey Joe (18" vs 14") but it's still easier to transport due to the lid bail that doubles as a lid lock. Some other upgrades that make this worth the price difference are the inclusion of a slow n sear insert for 2 zone cooking, the improved bottom vent with extended handle, Improved handle on the top vent temperature port, and smoke hole. I initially thought the smoke hole was a gimmick, but I've found it useful in low and slow cooking. You can close off the bottom vent and use the smoke hole for air intake on really low temp cooks. I really do think the SNS travel kettle is worth more than the double the price you'll pay versus a Smokey Joe.

Awesome
Awesome little grill that really punches above its weight class. There are a lot of great features packed into this guy. The way the handle locks and then turns into the lid holder, The smoke hole and the included charcoal basket are very convenient. We use this while at home, traveling and camping. It’s the perfect size to feed multiple people while still being able to transport easy.

Much better than weber
This grill is top quality. It cooks really well and will last you many years. It is quite expensive but the included charcoal basket and stainless steel hinged grate make it worth it. Regarding the size it is a bit small for regular use if you are using two zones. Its better for travel or if you only grill small amounts of food.

SnS Travel Kettle Grill close to perfection.
Its a high quality excellent grill. Has features other big brands dont have like a large ash blade and a port hole for a temp probe, heat shield for the lid handle and a plastic handle on the lid vent ferris wheel. Did I mention it comes with an excellent temp gauge on the lid? It doesn’t stop there. Comes with quality built grill grate that freely spins to move your protein from hot and fast to slow and sear. Grate is hinged to let you add more fuel if needed. And for good measure it offers a slow and sear charcoal tray. I love it. BUT!! They can improve in one area. Hardware to put it together and instructions are very clear. Everything went smooth till i got to the kettle legs. Trying to hold the leg brace, nut and bolt was extremely cumbersome. The nut should be fixed to the chasis for ease of inserting the bolt. SnS fixes that, it would be a perfect grill. Its still very close. Definitely a great buy.

Much better than Weber EXCEPT....
So I also have the Weber Jumbo Joe. The SnS is so much better than Weber. Thicker metal. Sturdier support legs. Wider charcoal area for adding more fuel. The grate opens fully 50% unlike the Weber only partially opening. So much easier to add charcoal. Small side vent is great for slow smoking. Overall just a superior grill. Only downside is the temp gauge broke as I installed it. ( Needle broke loose) A shame but not worth taking the grill apart to send back. Otherwise simply a superior product. I had to take one star away since the temp gauge is broken. Instructions are simply pictures but very clear how to piece it together. And the way the parts and screws/washers/fasteners are labeled and packaged is wonderful ! And when you add to the Weber the price of the folding grate ($30) and the charcoal side basket ($30) it equals the price of the SnS. So just spend the money and get the SnS. Simply amazing !!!

The Mona Lisa of Sear...
This may be the perfect grill... Def the best travel grill. Two zones may have changed my life. The sear on this thing is a thing of beauty. I've use quite a few different grill types. Offset, gravity, gas, and barrel... This is the most fun and best outcome that I've had. Watch the videos on the cold grate method. Check out BBQ Labs video on it... You might get a discount ;-)

Junk. Buy Weber
What a complete piece of junk this thing is. I went with this over the Weber because of it has a thermometer and larger charcoal grate. Big mistake. 1- the lower half was wavy in sections and dented in another. 2- instructions are awful 3- the leg mounts were misaligned to the lid bail handle. I could live with the waves and dent in the bowl. I could eventually figure out the instructions. But the leg mounts being welded in the wrong spot is a deal breaker. The bail handle was off by about 6”. 6 inches!!?? Can’t live with that. The bail holder wasn’t able to engage the bail handle. Like others have stated in their reviews. The quality control and manufacture of this unit is awful. I bought this a week before a boat trip and beach bbq. Wasted an hour trying to build it n figure out why it doesn’t do what videos and pics show before realizing it’s defective. Thank god for Weber. This bag of garbage is going back to sns. Weber will be my go to. SNS….. fix your issues. This is unacceptable.

Best 18" on the market
Weber is nothing compared to this company. Having said that, mine was at least 2 years old as they haven't made the black one in at least that long, It was Oct 2024 when I purchased this grill. Big 2-3 inch scratch on the inside of the bottom of the kettle down to the metal. Hopefully this wont cause a rust issue down the road. The ash sweeper, charcoal grate, grill grate and lid setup are top notch. I just don't understand why I was sent a black one from 2 years ago? It was new but one of the legs is made different than the other 2. Don't let my review make you not buy this thing, it is just plain amazing!! I just looked at this grill again and it is $204 with a cast iron griddle now? I paid $199 without? WTH Amazon?? $5 for a cast iron griddle insert, sign me up!
