Great on ice
Bought this as i was scared of falling over on the ice after. Bad slip. Works great as i felt more steady on ice with these thank on normal pavement Feet hurt after a long walk in trainers so reconmend wearing with boots, Fit over boots great and snug. But if your a Londoner you may have trouble on and off tubes. Had to keep taking then off and putting them on to do stairs and slippery smooth surfaces indoors on my commute. But if your outdoors in snow and ice, these are perfect

Great product
These are great when its icy. Fit easily onto most boots and shoes and they really do work. You start off being a bit wary but soon get used to the fantastic grip they give you. Read somewhere that these are dangerous if worn on tiles or smooth surfaces - so dont try them out in the house - but then why would you ?

Great product, just a little unstable
Overall - great product. Used them over trainers for dog walk and felt confident I wouldn't slip. Went over conpacted snow and these were amazing. Good on ice too - they find grip in any direction. I wore them over leather soles shoes (which are as good as ice skates normally) this morning and great improvement. They fitted better on the trainers but were fine on shoes. You can hardly see them on black shoes too, which is a bonus. They don't have spikes so I trust them to walk a few steps across my expensive hall flooring. My one gripe is stability. The bits you walk on cross over in the middle which means you feel unsteady, like your ankle may go over to the sides, if you're walking on tarmac or ice. Not a problem o snow though.

Really work in snow and ice
I was given a pair of these about 10 years ago and they've been fantastic for dog walking in snow and ice ever since. They grip on everything except sheet ice and they're easy to put on boots (easier if you put them on before you put the boots on). I was so pleased I had mine during the recent cold snap that I bought these as a gift for my brother.

A must for the unbalanced and uncoordinated
Ok, so I don't have much experience walking on snow and ice having lived in London all my life and not seeing that much of it. However I do live in a fairly hilly part of town so when snow has hit I've been pretty pathetic - to put I mildly- when walking ,snails have moved faster. So when I decided to go and see the Northern Lights in Norway, someone recommended that I invest in a gadget that would improve my grip. Well I googled and amazon'd and the Yaktrak Walker Traction device came up. I took a chance and bought a pair and I have to say that it gave someone like me, who is completely without balance or co-ordination, hope. Yes, you read that right, hope. I will never be mistaken for Usain Bolt on the ice or snow but I will also never be mistaken for an arthritic snail either! It gave me the confidence to walk along the compacted snow streets of Tromso without the dreaded fear I normally get when I see the snow flakes hit the pavements. If you're anything like me (and I'd like to think I'm not on my own) then investing in a pair of these can't be that bad, can it? The answer to that is no.

Life Savers!
Amazing product. I've had a couple of pairs of these. First pair lasted 6 winters before they died, second pair now 1 winter old and going great. I live at the top of a hill in the highlands and would not be able to survive without these. Icy footpaths do not scare me anymore as these grip anything from sheet ice to compacted Great for anyone, any age. Buy them and you'll walk with confidence every winter!

Good Bits of Kit.
Bought in December 2012 and have not had to wear them until this January. However I had a fall on ice while away from home in February 14 and the memory made me make sure they were handy this winter. Easy to don and doff, they give excellent levels of grip in ice and snow and are comfortable enough to wear while crossing cleared roads with them still on - however I would not wear them for long distances on cleared areas of snow and ice. I have had one minor slip while wearing them, but that was the snow under the Yaxtrax breaking free of another layer; not the Yaxtrax slipping. These will be with me at all times during snow and ice conditions.

I purchased my first pair back in 2018 after a bad knee injury, and they changed my life. I went from being an anxious winter walker afraid of falling with every step, to become someone who walks confidently without any real fear of falling. I’m still always cautious though, but I’ve never slipped or fallen with my Yaktrax. My 2018 pair lasted two years then broke after heavy use. I purchased two new pair in 2020 — I misplaced one pair, but the other pair is still going strong now. I purchased a spare set in 2022 just to have on hand. Easy to put on, but I usually keep them on my boots all the time, and just carry spare shoes to switch into when I go into a building, etc. They do slip on tile, wood flooring, and linoleum etc., but they work fine on concrete. My only note is that the sizing chart wasn’t accurate for my specific winter boots — Mediums fit my size 7 women's boots (I order a small pair and a medium pair my first try in 2018. The smalls didn’t fit, but the mediums fit perfectly. It might have been my specific boots that were the issue, and not the size chart.)
