What a great buy this Ocarina is! The range is as advertised, A4-F6 (21 chromatic pitches). The instrument arrived within two days and played in tune out of the box. I verified this using the Tonal Energy app on my iOS device for both A440 and A442 (like a recorder this instrument can be blown sharp or flat depending on air speed). It’s great to have so much flexibility. The timbre is that of a very warm and pleasant quality. It should be noted that the acoustics of an ocarina are not like those of a flute with two open ends producing a full Harmonic series, therefore the nearest harmonics are very weak and tend to be far from the resonant frequency for any given fingering. This ocarina possesses a pleasant embodiment of this characteristic, thereby producing the true whistle sound that is expected from an ocarina. Multiple fingerings are possible from those given in the “song book.” I was not disappointed in any way by this purchase.

Gorgeous! Sounds amazing! The price? Meh really it’s okay I bought it as a Christmas gift for my fiancé, and he loves it. It will NOT sit on its stand like the picture, both the stand and the instrument are ceramic and the instrument just slides off so that could use work otherwise it’s perfectly functional and sounds amazing while being played!

Arrived with an issue barley in the sellers control and they were amazing about addressing us for me as a one time customer. Beautifully done and thank you Very disappointed in the crack in the porcelain ocrina. Seems nice but the birthday it was for only comes once a year and the crack running through it was deflating

The package arrived in time. The item was as described. Now, what I don't like about it is that is made of ceramic. So a bad move, like dropping it, would be almost the last thing you would do (the last thing would be sweeping the pieces in the trash can). It is a music instrument and requires practice. Don't expect to master it in a couple of hours. We can play some tunes, more or less, and for us it is enough. Thanks

Got it for my girlfriend's birthday. Decided to try it myself to make sure that it works. It sure does! Took me a moment to figure it out but the instructions that come with it are fairly clear. I learned quite a few simple melodies in a matter of minutes and I really enjoyed it. I'm sure my GF will like it as well. It's also very pretty and would look great on a shelf.

When buying, I figured it would just be a nice conversation piece for my home. Once it arrived, however, I was able to fully appreciate the craftsmanship and high quality glaze used in making it. It's been decades since I've picked up an instrument, but the accompanying manual was simple enough to understand that I mostly have the basics down after only a week. Hopefully, I'll be an avid player after another month or 2 of practice.

Honestly, the stand is a pretty cool idea, but it is not compatible with the ocarina in any discernable way. Other than that - the ocarina itself plays great. The songbook doesn't help much if you want to play all the Zelda songs from OoT, so as a Zelda item this one kinda misses the mark. But the overall quality as a musical instrument seems good.

I received my ocarina promptly, it looked exactly how it was depicted in the listing, and was easily able to play songs out of the song book that came with it. Inside of the book is a fingering chart, which immensely helped when first playing it. There were simple songs like Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Happy New Year. One thing that did surprise me was it came with the little holding hand ! Upon opening the box, I didn't expect it to be there. The tuning on it sounds great! When playing Happy Birthday, I could easily hear the different notes and different tones of the notes. I am satisfied with my little ocarina that will keep me occupied for hours! p.s. the string that comes with the ocarina for a little lanyard doesn't effect the sound.
