Building a case for this book
The only thing I know about the kid I bought this for was that my nephew is sweet on his mommy. The kid thinks he'll be an architect one day. This book will either inspire him or dissuade him. The thoughtfulness of it should endear my nephew to his mom. Maybe the book will be the foundation of a lifelong pursuit...of his mommy. Who knows? But I was once a kid interested in architecture and I would have loved it. For a few days. I wasn't much for studying, never mind math!

could use more illustrations... considering the subject matter
This guide could use more illustrations... considering the subject matter is most easily explained visually. A picture is worth a hundred words. A fabulous book on architecture is Eyewitness Companions Architecture by Jonathan Glancey.

Good book.
This is an excellent book if you need to learn about Architecture. My professor actually had us order this for his class about the history of Architecture. It's been three years and I'm now studying graphic design and I still have this book!

Excellent introduction to topic ... worth reading!
This book is an excellent introduction to the topic. It covers how buildings are designed and the planning process. Follows on with starting from the first buildings ever built and how they change over time. The designers, architects and key features of different styles and eras are covered in depth and really enable you to appreciate the design... and if a building is just a building or if it is architecture. Great book to start you off in the subject.

Egal in welcher Sprache viel zu oberflächlich -Ich hätte mir zu den einzelnen Baustilen eindeutige Bilder gewünscht- Ich werde das Buch in unsere Stadt Bibliothek geben -vielleicht kann sonst Jemand damit etwas anfangen - nach 9i Jahren Englisch Unterricht kann man den englischen Text recht gut verstehen
