During two different trips to India I got UTIs. Thankfully I was in a hotel that could call a doctor to prescribe proper antibiotics. But the embarrassment, pain, and stress of dealing with a UTI in India was a nightmare to deal with. So before yet another month-long trip to India, I started doing some reading and found positive results with D-Mannose. I decided to order some and give it a try. (I figured I already had antibiotics, so if the D-Mannose didn't knock out the UTI, I'd still be able to take the Cipro.) When you get sick in India, you're never sure where it came from, but you can at least narrow it down to a few different things that may have caused it. In my case it was either the 15 hour flight between the states and India, the long (8 hours+) day-trips with no bathroom break, and/or possibly the water I was drinking contained trace amounts of E. Coli. So I began taking D-Mannose as a preventative measure before our flights to India or anytime I knew I'd be going for a long time without access to a proper restroom. That was over a year ago and my husband and I now live in India. I haven't had an actual UTI since using D-Mannose. Even with our reverse osmosis system, the water quality here is terrible. We even purchased a Berkey water filtration system to help purify our drinking water further. It helps, but at the end of the day you can't control when or where you'll find a bathroom. Recently we drove to visit another city and I wasn't able to use the restroom for 9 hours. NINE HOURS. I was pretty much guaranteed to get a UTI. And sure enough, I started getting that all-too-familiar burning, aching pain in my bladder and below. Right away I started taking D-Mannose, a TrueNature Cranberry supplement, Cystex (for the pain) and no UTI. I *never* travel without D-Mannose. I have both the capsules and the powder - both work great, but I have found it's easier for me to take the pills when I'm on-the-go. Without hesitation, I would recommend this to any woman (or man) who suffers from "traveler's UTI". I can actually go on long trips again without worrying about getting bladder infections because I can take D-Mannose as a preventative measure, and the fact I don't have to keep pumping my body full of antibiotics makes this supplement a life-saver. This stuff is amazing. It's like UTI-be-gone. (Side-note: In addition to taking D-Mannose, Cranberry Supplements and Cystex, I also try to cut back on my sugars and caffeine. So if you notice you keep getting UTIs, try to cut back on your sugar and caffeine intake. The week before I know I'll be going on a long trip, I usually won't drink coffee and I cut back on my sweets. It's another small but helpful way to help with a bladder infection when you're taking D-Mannose or antibiotics). ***** Update 07/14/2016: It's been four years since I posted this review and I wanted to add that as a result of the antibiotics I had taken in the past for UTI's I basically destroyed my gut bacteria and I ended up needing upper and lower scopes done. I was put on a restricted diet and suffered horrible depression, anxiety and insomnia (leaky gut, serotonin and various vitamin deficiencies). I am now taking lots of probiotics (which are also very important for urinary health too folks!) and working on healing my gut, but I am very wary of taking any antibiotic unless I absolutely have to, so D-Mannose has become a very important staple in my medicine cabinet. Since I last wrote this review, I've only had ONE UTI that ended up requiring antibiotics. This most recent time I was traveling again and wound up with quite possibly one of the worst bladder infections I've ever had and not surprisingly the antibiotics didn't quite knock it out. After completing the antibiotics I was still experiencing a lot of pain/pressure/aching in my lower back and bladder, my urine still smelled terrible and was cloudy, and it still felt like I was peeing razor blades. The only noticeable change was that I was no longer urinating blood, but all of my other symptoms were still there. I know that antibiotics take a little bit of time to kick-in, trust me, I've taken my fair share of them. But I also know my body and know when they are NOT working. As soon as I got home I took 1000mg of cranberry extract and I just loaded up my water with D-Mannose powder then gulped it all down all at once a few times a day for the next several days (I was told taking a bunch all at once is more effective then spreading it out over the course of the day, but not to do it long-term as Cranberry Extract can cause kidney stones to develop). I was literally *this close* to calling the doctor back up and going back in for another urine analysis. But after taking the Cranberry and D-Mannose my symptoms all finally cleared. I continued to take the Cranberry and D-Mannose for about a week following the antibiotics just for good measure. On another note, I have also used this for my greyhound when she developed a minor UTI a couple years ago (vet tested and confirmed) and it cleared it up for her as well. So it seems this works for pets too!

EFFECTIVE.......cleared up kidney/bladder effectively. Only a day or two and condition cleared completely. I'll continue or order and use. Relief.

This completely cured one of my bladder infections. I had a bladder infection confirmed at the doctor's office and instead of using the antibiotics she prescribed, I used the d-Mannose instead. Symtoms improved within hours and I felt completely better in a day. I continued with the d-Mannose and returned to the doctor for another culture and they pronounced me all clear! It really worked, I was shocked. I had very severe symptoms including blood in the urine and extreme pain. Sounds perfect, but I didn't have the same luck with my next infection. This time, the d-Mannose did help decrease the symptoms within hours, but every morning, after sleeping and not taking it during the night, the symtoms would return. I kept increasing the dosage and waking during the night to take more, and though the d-Mannose helped significantly, I just could not beat the infection. Symptoms kept returning even though I was taking the caplets every two hours and sometimes every hour. Finally I gave up and took an antibiotic, Bactrim, and it still wouldn't clear up! So they prescribed another antibiotic, Macrobid, and after two days I am finally feeling normal, no pain and no breathrough symptoms. A culture at the doctor's office confirmed it was an e coli infection, but the d-Mannose just couldn't beat it. It definitely helped with the symptoms temporarily, but the pain kept returning. I am still going to keep using the d-Mannose though. It can beat an infection, but maybe my latest bladder infection was just too overwhelming. It also helps with symptoms so even if you want to use antibiotics, it can be useful if you can't get in immediately to a doctor's office. I will also start using it before/after sex as a preventative and hope to avoid bladder infections in the future. I think it's a great product even though it didn't completely solve my problem the second time. Capsules vs. powder: I used the caps but when you're taking a lot of it, even though they're easy to swallow, after a while your throat rebels. Sometimes they don't go down all the way and I'd burp up powder! Gross! I finally started opening the caplets and pouring the powder into water and drinking it. Even though the powder in the caplets doesn't blend well, it was possible to drink it down and I felt it started working faster. I will be ordering the powder to use at home and caplets to keep in my purse or for travel.

My urologist recommended this product for me as a 60+ yr old woman getting frequent bladder infections. Since I started taking it, I haven't gotten a single one!! If I start feeling symptoms, I just take 3, 2 or 3/day and the symptoms stop! It's a miracle.

This is magic in a bottle. OMG, a friend told me about this. I had a UTI that made me want to screammmmmm. I started this immediately and no lie I immediately started to pee and with each pee I got more relief… 2-3 hours later I don’t have that awful burning, lower pelvic cramping that makes you legitimately want to bend over in pain. I took 4 tablets and plan to take 4 every 3-4 hours until this is completely gone. Also my urine was light pink (clearly blood in it) and each time I’ve gone to the bathroom it gets lighter, this last time it looked almost completely clear: wow is all I have to say. I understand it may not work for others but it’s been miracles so far for me. Would recommend 100000000 percent. ****update —the magic is real real, 2 days later and my UTI that was terrible is completely gone. Within hours of taking this I was better and by the next morning felt brand new. I took 4 tabs every 4 four hours for the first 2 days and then dropped to 3 tablets. By day 2 I had zero symptoms, I will continue for another few days for maintenance and I just ordered another bottle to have on hand. This seriously works faster than any antibiotics I have ever taken. Remember to drink a ton of fluids, I was sucking down water like crazy and hot tea. I had some soup too. I was feeling so ill from the UTI symptoms and within a matter of hours that changed. Please note that the first few hours of going to the bathroom will be annoying and probably uncomfortable but trust the process, D-Mannose is literally removing everything from your bladder that shouldn’t be there. Wow is all I can say.

Ever a wheel bound wife with dementia had a big problem with UTIs ever since then using the monos she has not had one UTI in probably four years. I’d say that’s a great product.

I was skiptical before using D mannose, as even antibiotics stopped working for my recurrent UTIs. I decided to give this a shot, as I read lots of good reviews about this product. I'm more than happy to finally find something to treat and prevent my UTIs!! One advice though, it's all about the right dosage. I took 2 pills 3 times a day for 3 days, then 2 pills twice a day for a week. You need to also be patient, my symptoms took 3 days to resolve. I made sure I drink plenyof water as well, and a pure no sugar added cranberry juice ( the one you dilute with water), once to twice a day. Miracle!

It is working but dnt rush it be patient with the product the results are good

I have a chronic pain that I assume from UTI after eating salty foods, and I just wanted to give this a try if this will work. It sounds too good to be true but after taking in two days (3 capsules daily), the pain went away. But this is the only supplement I took. I don’t know if its my immunity or this capsule, but it is worth the try!
