Great enclosure
I've had this enclosure for a while and it works great. The case does get warm so it's doing its job. Installation was easy, just one screw.

Works good and transfers fast.
Works great with a fast transfer speed.

It works good with Mac mini M4 but the fan is always on once Mac was turned on!
Searched for a NVME enclosure to be the primary storage of Mac mini M4 base model for a while and decided to try this one though it only had limited reviews. The build quality looks good and Crucial P3 1TB was easy to put into the case. It delivered around 1600MB/s, not 3000MB/s with P3. I am not sure that might be relate to P3 is a PCIe Gen 3 x4 device, not PCIe Gen 4 x4 but I don't have other spare NVME disk to try. BUT there is a minor issue that I might send it back to Amazon, i.e. fan noise. The fan noise is not large but you will hear it whenever you turn on your Mac even the Mac went into the sleep mode! (The noise is similar to the noise from my busy Mac mini 2018). The fan on this device is always working! I checked other ones that have fan built-in using PWM control and only turn fan on when the temperature goes over 40 degrees or other devices use very large case to dispense the heat. I guess I will return this device and get other using big case approach since I don't like fan noise and this kind not-replaceable fan might become a mechanical part that might be down in the long run. Update: Spent more time to go over other name brand (or not) products, I found those without fan might cause heat dispense issues and SSD might die due to the heat. 2. Those with PWM fan control still saw reports that the enclosure got hot and disk disconnected or throttled. In my memory, my SATA SSD inside the Lenovo Laptop died after a disk clone. I guess it is because of the heat. Overall, I believe a always on fan might be better to protect the fragile high speed NVME SSD and decide to keep this enclosure.

I dig it!
Fast and cool. My initial impressions are quite good. Mine has a Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD 4TB installed. I performed a complete backup of my computer to it, and it was super fast, and the enclosure barely got warm. The size is good and fits nicely in my bag. In terms of the fan, in a room with typical ambient noise like a TV or air conditioning, I can barely hear it. Moving it around in my hand, I don't feel any sharp edges, and it feels rugged. I haven't performed any numeric speed tests, but I DID compare it to a WD Passport and a similar Samsung external SSD, and it was MUCH faster.

Functionality Issue
Very often to go off line when I do multiple files transfer. I did several cross testing (use different SSD, different Mac), result is all the same. And the unite is NOT under overheat. Very disappointed.

Enclosure forboth NVME or SATA drives
I bought this MAIWO M.2 SSD Enclosure to test both NVME and SATA drives. It works as expected. New drives must be initialized before they can be tested. Additionally, the speed you may achieve can be lower if your USB is not 3.1 Gen 2 or higher. SATA drives are maxed out at 6 Gb/s. The quality of the drives also matters.

Quality control is lacking
It’s a nice size and works as advertised. However, the one I received was missing a screw to keep the device the SSD plugs into affixed to the case. Not very good quality control. Seller sent a new enclosure with the screw holding down the board.

Great and very fast but fan is very loud to the point I can't keep it connected
The unit is very fast, very fast... however the fan is way to loud it drives me crazy... I just can't use it or can't keep it connected until I am ready to use it then I eject it right after I have two Samsung T7's that I use instead of this... Can anyone tell how to disconnect the fan on this unit

Good transfer speed, keeps the enclosed SSD cool enough, enclosure acts as a heat sink, robust enough for a traveling companion for a laptop. Liked it enough to have bought a second one

Honestly the enclosure has been incredibly fast, I found the cheapest 2tb nvme I could find on Amazon and put it in this. I typically get around 3000mb/s read and write on my M1 MacBook. However... The fan is so incredibly loud and poorly made I literally took it out, it sounds like a broken blender. I maybe just got a bad one but the sound and vibration is unbearable
