It is way to wide, suggest a unit that tapers in at the bottom. They do not list the width of these. You can always get a thinner unit, say 24 oz. That should fit. The 40 oz is a great unit keeps ice for two days,

We have the 40 oz. bottle and it does not fit our cup holders. Our vehicle is a 2010 though and cup holders may have changed in the last 12 years.

Why does rhis water bottle make water taste bad?

I have not had this experience. Did you wash it when it first arrived, like you should? The interior is lined with aluminum so if there’s a bad flavor it’s not coming from the bottle, unless of course the bottle is dirty or has some factory residuals left on it from manufacturing
