Good quality and reasonably priced
Good quality sand paper letters at a good price. Great tool for teaching reading.

Happy with the quality
These are just as good as the uppercase letters. They are durable (but my 10month old was able to bite off a corner of one card)and effective for teaching. I like that there are two verions of t and l one straight and one with curved bottom. The dot and arrow help children know where to begin and in what direction to go to form the letter, helpful for those who try to write from the bottom up or backwards.

I think these are great, they serve the purpose
I work at a preschool. We have the original wooden sandpaper letters. I think these are great, they serve the purpose, require less space to store, and handled with supervision they could last a pretty long time. I would order these again if needed and would recommend them in helping a child with his letters and their formations.

Great hands on cards for learning
Love these cards. I like that there are different formations for some of the letters such as l.

Nice alternative to traditional Montessori materials
The product and idea is great. However, the quality is lacking. These area nice, thick cardboard "flash card" with the letter pasted on in sandpaper. There is also a black arrow showing which direction to trace the letter. These cards are based on traditional Montessori materials and are a cheaper alternative. The ones used in a traditional Montessori classroom wood be solid wood, not cardboard. Better quality, yes, but also much pricier. These are a great overall value, but do be prepared to re-glue the sandpaper on. They tend to fall off easily.

Love it!
This has helped my daughter tremendously with her writing. She has trouble with writing her letters backwards so tracing the letters on the sandpaper actually is helping her transfer that to writing the letters on paper. We use these in her weekly first grade spelling words and it is helping her sound out the words and then tracing the letters.

Irregular sizing
My special needs 6yo with vision impairment made outstanding progress with the uppercase, so I went and ordered the lowercase. Was really disappointed to find that the size of these letters is not commensurate with the uppercase (you couldn’t put them side by side and see that the lowercase are smaller, or spell a word with a capital first letter and have it look correct. Also, the direction lines (which we aren’t using) cluttered up the area a lot and are unnecessary—the instructor should know how to form the letter and guide the student for that part. Finally, there is an extra ‘t’ and ‘l’ for 28 letters (one with straight line and one with curved bottom), but there isn’t an extra ‘g’ or ‘a’ which are much more varied and hard to recognize. Not a huge deal, but I thought it was odd to have those letters in there twice. I guess based on how you want the child to learn to form those particular letters?
