Schwarzkopf Color Ultime 1.4 Sapphire Black Hair Dye, Permanent Intense Black with Diamond Brilliance, Fade-Resistant, Covers Grays, All Hair Textures

This is a fantastic hair dye! It is very dark with just a hint of blue in the sunlight, giving you that animated black hair effect. The treatment is also magic and sealed up my split ends easily leaving my hair soft AND colored! The only issue I have is that the dye is very strong, in fact it gets on everything and stains everything. Droplets where you rinse your hair will leave blue stains on the floor and on the sink- unless you have a porcelain or marble I truly believe you are cooked although I had some success with nail polish remover (it will come of skin this way). That being said, it also sticks in your hair for weeks. I am on 3 weeks post dye and it looks like day 1. I am still leaving a blue residue in my bathtub when I shower despite it diluting but if you can accept the permanence it is worth it. In fact, I re-ordered a second box and am giving five stars for it delivering quality but I would be cautious especially if you are renting or planing a trip where your hair might get wet.

This hair dye product worked wonderfully on my hair! I used this hair dye at home and I’m really happy with how it turned out. The color came out pretty close to what was shown in the photos. The instructions are easy to follow which made things less stressful. The smell was noticeable like most hair dyes but not overwhelming. Overall, beautiful color, last pretty long, and easy to use at home!

Some people prefer sprays like this to powders and I tend to agree. If you can find a color that closely matches your hair, this does a decent job covering up your grays for the day. The pump or spray isn't really fast, or at least not as fast as sprays I've used before. This isn't a huge deal but it's the primary reason it doesn't get 5 stars. It comes off fine with your normal shampoo and conditioner and I didn't notice any over the top smell to this or anything that made it overly obvious I added something to my hair.

(Spoiler alert: it absolutely delivered.) Not only did it cover my fantasy colors beautifully, but it left my hair feeling soft, not crunchy like other permanent dyes tend to do. That post-dye conditioner? Liquid velvet. It actually made my hair feel better than before I dyed it—which feels illegal, but I’m not questioning it. And let me tell you… it's now July 2025 as I write this review. That’s 7 months later, and the black? Still looking chef’s kiss. You can’t see the sapphire-blue undertone as strongly anymore, but the color hasn’t faded into that dull, tired black that most boxed dyes do after a couple of months. You know that grayish, chalkboard-looking shade? Yeah, none of that. For context, I’ve dyed my hair black many times over the years. I've tried brands across the board—from drugstore cheapies to salon snob specials. My favorite kind of black is the one with blue or purple undertones, and this shade absolutely nails it. Most others? They betray you around month three. This one? Loyal. Good product, does bleed a lot but colour still holds. With this only have to dye my hair once a month instead of twice with other products I have used.

I was looking for a good black hair color and I bought this brand based off the good reviews I read about it. And honestly, I have to say, super duper pooper impressed with this dye! First 2 months the colour was so shiny and vibrant, and it's now been 3 months, almost 4, the colour has faded but it's such a pretty colour still, the fade is still nice and shiny and works for me. This brand is awesome for black, had to tell you :)

Purchased the sapphire black. Love the depth of the colour and ease of application. My hair stayed soft. Only complaint i have is after 10 washes it is still bleeding out black. Ive been dying my hair black for years, first time using this brand, never had it bleed out for so long. Still seems to be holding its colour and ive used the conditioner it came with as well as a colour rated shampoo as always. Hoping the bleed out stops soon and doesn't cause the colour to wash out early.

This brand is usually pretty good to use. I have used this before so, I knew what I was getting myself into. I already gotta do some touch ups but, yeah black hair is fire! Definitely a dye you gotta be careful with cause it will stain, transfer colour onto things like pillows, towels etc...
