Huh. The bi-material approach actually seems to be working. I'm actually kinda impressed.
Anchors for masonry can be a crapshoot. The simple extruded plastic 'cross-sections' either don't fit tight in the hole (because you wallowed out mortar too much), or get chewed by the screw going in and don't hold. Simple hard plastic ones 'snap' between the front ring and the back half if you overbury the screw. These actually seem to work due to the bimaterial design. Have in place in drills in both hollow brick and mortar, and both seemed to hold well (light weight camera mount). My go-to when I don't have good anchors is to drill, inject JB weld and wait for it to cure, then re-drill a pilot. Use the JB-weld as a 'formed in place' anchor. Which is a pain with hollow brick, not to mention introduces a 24 hr delay cycle into your mounting task. These look like they'll save me that effort.

I use these everywhere
Most things you want to mount to a wall probably aren't very heavy. Even that huge, ugly painting your relative gave you and you don't have the heart to bring to a swap meet probably weighs at most 20 lbs. The problem is usually just that you...just...can't...get...a...freaking...nail...into...the...wall. That's where these things come in. They're tiny, they're strong, they work in everything. I've used these on drywall, lath-and-plaster, cinder block, clay block, concrete, and soft wood. (I guess I mount a lot of stuff, heh!) Pair them with a small cordless hammer drill and you'll be hanging things in your unfinished garage and basement like you were born to do it.

Very Sturdy Anchors
I used these to anchor porch rails to concrete and they really provide a strong hold. The screws are quite long (2 5/8 inches), and extend about 13/16 or 7/8 of an inch beyond the end of the anchor. The anchor and screws worked well in 6 inch concrete, but might be too long in some applications. The anchor will work with # 8, #10, and #12 screws as indicated on the anchor. The screws should be at least 1 3/4 inches in length. These anchors are way better than the typical plastic anchor. I rate the anchors 5 stars, but the box was broken up and the anchors and screws were inside the shipping bag. Luckily, I was able to salvage the box with some packaging tape which prevented from storing the anchors and screws in a Ziploc bag.

Its worth it a couple cents for peace of mind.
Ive been using 1 inch drywall screws and these for a majority of my installs and haven't had any issues with them. 4 in some 1/2 drywall and I can hang off a towl rack i weigh 240.

Work well
I’ve used these multiple times in mortar between bricks to install clamps and other items. I’ve never had a failure yet and are my go to anchor for mortar.

Another Wall Anchor
There are many types of wall anchors. Some like "Molly bolts" and "Toggle bolts" are quite secure in hollow walls, but useless in solid walls. Some like "Tapcon", "RedHead, and "Strike Anchors" only work in solid walls. These DuoPower plug anchors are light weight anchors that will function in both solid or hollow walls. The manufacturer says they adapt to almost any material, or material thickness. They are a great improvement over plastic anchors. I have occasionally had various problems over the years with nearly all anchor types. The Fischer DouPower anchors have so far, been very well behaved. Consult the instructions for the best results. You will also need the correct size drill bit, designed for the material you are installing the anchors into.

Great when they work. Reliable in solid walls. Unreliable in hollow walls.
When installation of these goes well, they're great. The issue is in hollow walls. There is a very small 'lip' on the outer end of these, and you have to apply significant forward force to get the screws to bite. This makes it easy to accidentally push the anchor through the hole you've drilled - making it too wide. I had to order molly bolts to use where that happened. If the anchor does NOT push through, then you get a very strong result - but I found that happened on about 1 out of 4 applications to drywall. If I hit a stud - I can use a screw. If I don't - I can use a molly bolt. I'll use these up and then not purchase them again. If they just had a wider 'lip' they'd be great.

Quality
Not same as said. Screws are super big and box came damaged.

one of the better of this type
For best results do not use for heavier loads. Other wise okay. Opinions may differ on this one but butterfly type toggles are the best for heavy loads
