Better than a cage any day.
I have a mutt rabbit who was going to be fed to a snake and was rescued just in the nick of time. He lived outside in a cage for over a year at a relative's. Then one day it was so hot I brought him in the house to cool off. How funny--he's still in the house... Then I looked at cages and hutches and cages and hutches until they all looked the same. I read a review about this playpen and thought I would buy it so that he could spend some time outside (with supervision). It has ended up being better than any cage I could have purchased. It's bigger than a cage, and he loves being on the floor so he can see what's going on. He is a very entitled rabbit, so he demands that the playpen is open all day so he can run around and chase the cats (yes, chase the cats). He is very possessive of all his toys and chews and can keep them in a corner so the cats can't play with them. He's litter trained (it only took a week!) but we have to velcro the litter box in place so he doesn't dump it when he gets mad (like when we close him in at night). The food and water didn't attach as well as it would have in a regular cage, so he has graduated to "bowls" for food and water and even one for his vegetables. So easy to clean, too. Open it up, sweep, wipe the mat with a wet cloth, and he's good to go. Definitely think about using this instead of a cage. It's fun to watch him interact with us. I am going to purchase another one to give him a bigger area (as soon as I can sell the $90 cage I bought that I thought would be perfect--he hated it!).

Great for ferrets!
I bought a couple of these pens a little over a year ago for my 3 ferrets (2 females and 1 male). Letting ferrets free roam your house is basically like letting a bunch of toddlers free roam your house, and you have to babysit them the entire time they're out unless you have a ferret room or completely ferret proof house. Ferrets can be a handful, and I knew mine weren't getting enough playtime outside the cage because I didn't always have the energy to watch them, so I bought a couple of these. One pen is not nearly enough for multiple active ferrets, especially after adding a litter box, but 2 is better. These pens have been great! Not a single escape in a year of having them, which was my biggest concern. My ferrets can't climb them, squeeze through the bars, or lift them, and my ferrets vary greatly in size, strength, and persistence. They can move the pen in and out which changes the shape, but that's it. Now I can take my ferrets out a few times a day to release some energy and keep them happy. I was even able to rig up a tube connection from the pen to their cage so they could play whenever they wanted and never had an escape even unsupervised! These were definitely worth it! Here's a few things to keep in mind if you're getting these for ferrets: -If you're going to leave them unsupervised, make sure they have safe, unbroken toys that they can't accidentally swallow a piece of. -You should consider buying an extra food and water bowl/bottle and litter box if they will be spending a lot if time in their pen. -If you decide to have the pen around the cage like some people on here have done, make sure they can't climb the cage. -Ferrets get bored after a while, so alternate toys or buy new toys frequently, and I'd recommend still letting them out to wander the house sometimes. Pictures show 1 pen vs 2 pens.

Good Product but Mat is terrible
I took a star off because the mat it comes with it very low quality and my rabbit ate through it the first day of being in it. I've had to purchase various other products to layer on top so he doesn't continue eating through it. It's inconvenient and sometimes i just want to rip the mat off but then i dont want my floor to be damaged. The playpen itself is good and sturdy and my bunny has not jumped it. I don't know how anyone's small rabbit would be able to it's very high. The hole for the bunny to go through (since i connected it to his regular cage) is VERY small. I am afraid my rabbit will gain weight one day and not be able to fit through. It is ridiculously small and almost makes me think it wasn't even supposed to be used as a door for the rabbit to go in and out. The playpen is also very heavy, for me at least. I have a hard time moving it around when it is time for cleaning. The price for this product wasn't outrageous and at the time of purchase i thought it was a great deal. But upon using the product for about 3 months now it feels like i paid too much for it. Just like almost all other pet supplies which are overpriced for their quality.

Awesome for ferrets!
This is a great product, requires no assembly and is ready to go out of the box. The mat is high quality (which makes for easy cleanup) as well as the playpen. My ferrets love it but cannot escape, which is the point! The price is also low especially for the quality you get. I actually starting using this in place of their 2 story, $300+ cage. You can also buy another one, and combine the 2 for extra space. I highly recommend it!

Bunny Play Pen :)
I had been looking for a playpen for my bun that he could not hop out of---this is great! Easy to order and I got it in the mail in 4 days! It attaches right to the opening of his cage (SuperPet X-Large) and gives him a ton of space to run around and play in. The plastic mat is thin, but for bun's you should be covering it up with an old towel or carpet anyway, so it is perfect for keeping accidents off your carpet or hardwood floors. The space it provides is great--I have his igloo, toys and a fairly large cardboard box for him to play in and he still has a ton of space to run around it! It folds up and stores out of the way easily and was a great price! I even travel with it, so bun can play safely no matter where we go! This is a must for people with bun's who need some extra play space!!!! We love it!

Worked for two of three ferrets; one got stuck
Well, I put my older two ferrets in this, and it worked marvelously. Neither of them were able to climb out over the walls, as long as there wasn't their crate or anything they could use to stand on in the enclosure. I put my youngest ferret in it, and within half an hour she almost got herself stuck between the bars. After three minutes of very vigorous struggling on her part while I tried to help and was preparing to get ready to cut the bars, she managed to squeeze herself through. So if you have a younger, smaller ferret very intent on escape, be very, very careful.

Wonderful for ferrets
My two ferrets are happy!! Instantly put them in it with all their toys and they ran freely around and played. No their heads cant get stuck in the bars everything on the gate is perfectly spaced so that they are stuck inside and can't escape the math that it came with is also very nice considering my ferrets are not potty trained yet cuz we just got him a few days ago so that will make well for easy cleanup they also seem to find them at funny because it sticks to their Little Feet cuz it's a plastic mat. We were able to attach their water bottle to the side as well. I don't think they can it possibly Escape out of it either because it seems to be very heavy and they cannot push it so I think you'll be fine if you have this for your ferret. It's as tall as a size of my hip so I don't think they'll be able to climb over it unless you put a toy in there that's as big as the gate and them combined.

Great product highly reccomended
The cage part works very well. Maybe if it had more of a door to it itd be a little easier to open but thats a minor technicality so not a huge problem by far all in all a very good product the guinea pigs using this cage chewed the bottom mat piece but i just put a cheap fleece blanket under them instead and they seem to like that better they dont chew at it and u just shake it out in the garbage to clean and throw in the wash when u wanna really clean it. The cage can also be added to to make it bigger just find and buy more connector pieces and make it as big or small as u want. To sum it up its a great product definately tall enough so even a small rabbit couldnt escape or at least not without alot of difficulty its sturdy and a good metal material i would definately recomend this product to any and everyone looking for a good small animal play pen.

Great for people with ferrets as this fence limits their ability to climb.
I really like this pet fence. Itโs great for those who have ferrets as It keeps them from climbing it and getting out of the enclosure. The hole built into the fence is great as you can attach one end of a tube to it and the other end to another fenced in enclosure and have the little fuzz butts run back and forth getting exercise. It comes with a vinyl mat and a cap to lock in over the hole if you wish to keep the critter isolated to one area. Iโm getting myself another one of these pens. Thumbs up!

DO NOT GET THIS IF YOUR RABBIT IS SMALL
I repeat. DO NOT GET THIS IF YOUR RABBIT IS SMALL. I think it would be a great product for a medium size and up rabbits, but my holland lop (2 lbs) tried to escape and he got stuck in between the bars. A long story short, he is fine now, but we had to take him to the ER. This was a terrifying experience for both my rabbit and my family.
