Smashing!
I have been doing forearm exercises with my dominant hand since I was 12. During my 20s, my grip started to weaken, but since I have been married my dominant hand is once again at full strength...or so I thought. I bought three of these grippers to try the different strengths and because my left hand is significantly weaker than my right - Guide, Trainer, and No 2. I was surprised that I couldn't even close the No 2 with my right hand one single time. I could come pretty close, but not get the tips to touch. I let a couple of other pretty big guys try it at work and no one was able to close the No 2 completely. I can close the Trainer with my right hand about five reps no problem. I can't close the Trainer with my left hand. The Guide will be good for me to build up strength in my left hand. I've attached images of each of these grippers so you can see the size of my hand and maybe help you decide which strength to get. These things are super sturdy. A couple of them squeaked slightly, but a little WD40 took care of that problem. The feel of it is similar to a weight bar at the gym, maybe not even that rough. I've read several reviews about people saying that these shredded their hands. I don't see how this is possible because my hands aren't really calloused, and I've been using them for a few days no problem. You would have to have some seriously creamy lotioney hands for this to shred your skin. If you do have some baby smooth hands and want to keep them that way just wear gloves. That's what people do for the bars at the gym. Overall, this is a great product. I'm looking forward to being able to close the No 2. 6 Month Update: These things have held up very well. I haven't had to reapply any WD40 as they are still quiet from the first application. I use the Trainer and the Guide the most so I can do more reps. However, the No 2 has been the most fun. I keep it on my desk at work so people will pick it up. I love seeing the look on their face when they realize how hard it is. I have gotten to where I can close the No 2 now, but it is tough. I strained my hand one day trying to show off by snapping it shut without warming up. Overall great products. Would buy again if I had to over.

CoC are the best
Top-notch quality grips, though they come with a premium price tag.

The Gold standard of Grippers
IronMind is, without a doubt, the gold standard in Grippers. If you have had the everyday sporting goods store hand grippers, you are in for a surprise when you get one of these in your hand. A well-made, excellent product that will last. Available in a wide range of strength levels for everyone. Pick one of these up, and you will be well on your way to COC Certified! This DOES NOT INCLUDE THE IRONMIND CARD that is pictured.

About 90% of the normal population cannot close the 1.5's (according to my estimate)
I am a college student who had decided to work out and get big about a year ago. Chin ups were always my favorite exercise, and after many workouts, I have achieved the ability to do a chin up while wearing 100 lbs on a dip belt. I finally had to buck up and go to the gym because my home workouts were bordering on the dangerous level with the amount of weight that I had to be using. I came to realize that my body is able to do many different types of exercises that surpass my grip strength, and that's where these babies came in. About 4-5 weeks ago, I had decided to bite the bullet and get the 1.5's. I figured that 1's might be too easy, and I almost got the 2's because I had such a large ego. For someone that does chin ups with a grand total weight of ~280 lbs, I could definitely tell you that 1.5's were tough. I could not close them for 2-3 weeks, and that was with persistent training. I took these suckers to school and I gave everybody the 1.5's to try out -men, women, and gym buffs. Of the many people I gave these things to, the two people that managed to close it were about 50 lbs heavier than I am (180). A few notes for you: The grips are rough. If you do not have rough hands, these will hurt. Just quit being a baby and grow some calluses. The grips can squeak. This says nothing about the quality of the product. Get some WD40 on the spring, and grip. The grips are HARD. If you think you have a monster grip, by all means, get the 1.5 first. If you're simply "advanced", get the 1's. These things are heavy duty. Throw them down a cliff, run them over with your car, shout hurtful phrases at it. They'll manage. It does not seem like it, but these will WORK your forearms if you put the effort in. I've noticed increased size and vascularity within a few weeks of use. These WILL affect your performance at the gym. I'm able to do lat pull downs and lateral rows more comfortably with larger weights (250+ lbs). I'm able to do dumbbell flyes longer without tiring at heavier weights (40+ lbs). If you can conquer 1.5's, people will call you a freak (in a good way). I literally got my CoC #2's a few minutes ago. I could close the 1.5's about 5 times on my right hand and 2-3 on my left. If I squeeze my hardest, I could get the handles within 3/4 of an inch of each other on the #2's. Get a beast grip. Get these things.

Best grippers on the market. The captains of crush are the quintessential grip training tool for anyone that is serious about improving grip/hand/forearm strength. Forget about the plastic spring one from your local department store, this is the real deal. The #2 is not a beginner gripper and is challenging to close. If you are starting consider a trainer from captains of crush or a half size like a 0.5. These grippers get better with time and will last forever, very sturdy build and can take anything you can throw at it. Pricey but worth every penny
