Reviving a timeless classic... Thank you Seiko!
I don't typically take the time to write a review on a product, but this is an exception. Thank you Seiko, for updating and reintroducing a timeless classic! In 1983 I received the H558 for graduation, and literally wore it everyday for close to 20 years. I went through 3 rubber wrist bands and several batteries during this time. I never really got on the "Arnie" bandwagon, because I already owned the watch before I saw it in the movies. I remember seeing it and thought, "hey, he's got MY watch!" I remember the watch being pretty expensive, up around the $500 mark. Which back then, was quite a bit of money, especially for a high school kid. I don't wear a watch as a fashion statement. To me a watch is an indispensable tool that I relied on and wore every day and night, no matter what I was doing. Rock climbing, diving, snorkeling, cave exploring, boating, biking, surveying, etc. For it's 3rd or 4th battery change (I can't remember), I sent it to Seiko to have them go through it, replace the seals and install a new battery sometime in the late 90's. I'm glad I did, because apparently they stopped making that model in 2000. Once that battery died, I retired the watch because I was tired of dealing with the battery change every 3-4 years. I opted for their dive watch with the automatic jeweled movement. I was very happy with that model for many years, but it began losing quite a bit of time, like 2-3 minutes a day. I missed the accuracy of my old watch, but didn't want to have to deal with the batteries. I discovered that Seiko brought out a new watch last year, with the same look, feel and operation as my old one... I bought it immediately! Knowing my history with the old watch, here is my take on the new one: I absolutely could not be more pleased with it. Size wise, the new watch is a small amount larger diameter than the old one. The screw down push buttons and crown are a little more obtrusive than the old one, which makes it look even bigger. However, they are very user friendly and function well. I like the screw locks on the buttons, because it protects them from being accidently pushed and changing the mode the watch is in. The LCD screen works just as well as the old one, but the new watch has a much brighter LED light in it. The functions are the same as the original, with multiple time settings, day/date, stopwatch and alarm. The new silicon band is much more comfortable and forgiving over the old band material. My wrists are kind of small, but the new watch, being even larger than the old one, wears well and is very comfortable. I think the thing that I am most excited about is the fact that it is solar powered. In the pictures (old watch on the left), you can kind of see the face of the new one being a little off black, or brownish, so that is apparently the solar panel. I find that it charges quickly, even under office lights, and has a readout that tells you the battery level. So if it is running low, go outside and do something! It has the accuracy of a fine quartz movement, without ever having to change the battery, ever again. In closing, there are many brand names with flashier watches, and more expensive automatic jeweled, solar or kinetic movements, but I consider this to be a durable "working" tool with a long heritage. Seiko is the only brand watch that I will buy, and only time will tell if this one can withstand the daily abuse I plan to put it through. But if it is anywhere near the quality of the old one, I have confidence it will last me a lifetime. Thank you Seiko!

Buy it while you can.
Love this watch, it has become a favorite. Arnold wore this type of watch in Predator, Raw Deal, Running Man, and Commando. Nice look, perfect size, functional and great battery life on minimal sun exposure. Digital accuracy, easy to read, it’s a big watch but not too heavy, very wearable as a daily driver or a sporty occasional. I believe this model has been discontinued as of late 2025.

Great freaking tool watch
Yeah this thing ain't winning any beauty contest. But in a weird way that's a part of why I like it so much. This is a utilitarian tool watch. I've owned and used this watch almost every day since late 2020. I work as a lifeguard and I am contracted with ROTC so I take this thing into the elements a lot. From diving into the pool constantly to roughing it in the woods up mountains and in mud. This sucker keeps on ticking. I swapped out the rubber strap for a green nato for comfort and style and I refuse to let it leave my wrist since. Solar power works great and its awesome not having to worry about battery life or accuracy issues. It's bezel does feel a little mushy but it's not too terrible and works as you need it to. And of course with seiko divers the lume is fantastic and a life savior in night land nav. It is a chunky watch but due to its smaller lug to lug width it actually fits rather well on my smaller sub 7 inch wrist. Wears much akin to a medium sized G-shock. Provided are photos of my configuration of it up close and how it looks in the wild. Overall. Very stylish and unique tool watch that more than holds its own in a world of smart watches. Plus having that arnie confidence in your wrist never hurts.

DO NOT BUY! BEWARE
The watch itself is beautiful even with the 48mm sizing. It fits my 6 and 3/4 inch wrist nicely and over all is very comfortable with useable complications. I wholeheartedly love the style of the watch and its functionality. However, THE WATCH IS DEFECTIVE. 2023 Models, from what it seems, have defective modules and cease to work. The watch will work perfectly, but once it is in direct sunlight, it will factory reset and misalign the arms with the time complication. You will then have to manually reset your time, align the arms, and reset the date. Once the watch is in direct sunlight once again, your watch will reset again. This is an ongoing issue with the SNJ025 027 and 033. For a watch that is SOLAR powered, you’d think it would be tested to not be defective when in direct sunlight. SAVE YOUR MONEY and get a model made before 2023 or get an alternative watch. For some watches the issue will not appear until after the return period has concluded. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!!!!! Wait until Seiko recalls them, offers a fix, or until any models produced after 2023 are released. Why this watch is still on sale even though Seiko, Amazon, and dealers know about this issue is beyond me.

Seiko Arnie, Amazing watch at a great value with iconic movie history
Ok let's begin with "GET TO DA CHOPPA" this watch is the Seiko Arnie reissue with updates engine and solar and its epic. It's not only one of his favorite watches it's been in 4 of his movies. The Seiko H558-5000 is most famous for being worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger in several of his 1980s movies, including Commando (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Predator (1987) and The Running Man (1987). Therefor it is often referred to as the Seiko Arnie Diver. I pulled the "TRIGGER" on one of the most ICONIC action movie watches of all time. While this is an updated reissue with new internals the look and feel is exactly the same and I love everything about it... also it fits well for its size. A larger face and shroud (basically a seiko tuna) its lugs hang downward and it very comfortable for all day wear in the office or our in the field. Great LUME all night glow and an internal light on the digital panel. So very effective in all light conditions. Plus ISO rated up to 200m 660 feet of pressure depth so it's an REAL DIVER. Lastly since it's so iconic there are literally hundreds of bands, bracelets and straps as well as steel and polished shrouds or plastic and colorful cerakote guards. YEAH YOU CAN MOD THIS WATCH. I wont because I wanna leave it's a ARNOLDS watch while I hunt PREDATORS in the jungle but you can have it your way and go absolutely nuts with it if you wish. Great 80s nostalgia with current internal tech best of both worlds if you just want a daily wear workhorse too!

Great legendary watch! I feel like Arnie :)
I am happy to finally have the legendary Seiko Arnie in my collection! The watch is massive (but lightweight), very good assembly and great vintage style (from the 80s) I would say that the size of this model is universal - it fits perfectly both small and large wrists. My wrist is 7.5 inches and it looks great. The rubber strap is extremely comfortable, soft, pleasant to the touch. The solar powered mechanism is very good - seconds hit the indices accurately, without discrepancy. There is a function of falling asleep by staying in the dark for a while - the display goes out and the hands are arranged at 12 o’clock, but continues to keep accurate time. As soon as it detects light, the display automatically turns on and the hands stand at the exact time. Bezel fits perfectly at 12 o'clock. Very fast and secure delivery and very well packed! Thank you!

Get to da CHOPPA!! (Two year Arnie watch review)
If it's good enough for Ah-nold, it is good enough for me. This is the solar-powered reissue/remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Seiko watch that he wore in several 80's films. Most notably, to me, was in the movie Predator. The original watch was extremely cool, but this remake is even better. The solar power is wonderful and means that you are not dependent on batteries. Once it gets charged up, which takes almost no time, it can sit in the dark for up to six months and still keep the proper time. The watch is slightly larger than the original and it has better buttons that screw down so they don't let in water and are not accidentally getting pushed during normal wear. I have been wearing this watch for about two years and it has proven to be very reliable and extremely durable. I wanted a watch that looked cool, was relatively simple, and could handle water with no issues. This Seiko is the real deal and it also has the added bonus of being a remake of the Arnie, which adds even more fun. I have worn it while driving commercial vehicles, working in a mechanic's shop, and working on house repairs. It has stood up admirably to any and all of it. I was originally worried that it would get all scratched up, but the bezel is very strong and scratch resistant. I have not had any noticeable scratches so far and I am not hyper careful with it throughout the day. The only time I take it off is if I am working with harsh chemicals that might hurt the rubber. Speaking of rubber, the band that came with it is comfortable and extremely cool. I wasn't sure what it would be like, but I have really enjoyed it. It holds up well while working and doing chores in the yard. My only issue is that sometimes it traps heat a little too much and I have to take the watch off for a few minutes. The watch is expensive, but it is a great value for what you are getting and the reliability of the piece.

The iconic Seiko Arnie
The Seiko Arnie (SNJ025) Reissue is amazing! I've wanted to get one since the reissue in 2019 but was a little put off by the price. It generally hovered anywhere between $450-$525 USD. But in recent months it's come to down to around the mid $300 which to me is a fantastic value. Love the ani-digi dial with alarm, dual time, stop-watch, and a cool function that lets check the battery level(or capacitor charge level, since technically there is no battery). The solar movement, in my opinion, makes it an even better value without the necessary battery change that would be needed at some point. Seiko lovers like myself don't need to hear about the significance and heritage of this watch. If you know, you know. But if you're on the fence or thinking of buying your first Seiko or new to watch collecting, believe me, this watch is worth every penny they're currently selling for. I got this one for $332 USD with a 17% deal from Amazon. The bottom line- this is an awesome watch and my other Seikos will probably be spending quite a bit of time in the case for awhile because Arnie will be getting major wrist time for the foreseeable future 😉. Get one!!

A dream
I have a small Citizen collection for everyday wear and a casio DW for work. I've always wanted to add a Seiko but witch one? I went with the stunning Seiko prospex famously known from Predator. An absolute gem. Fits every style. Solid build, confy, solar powered, rotating/push crowns, digital display with lighting and easy to set up. The watch goes into sleeping mode in a dark environment to save on energy. The watch itself is not as bulky as it seems. Bracelet is smooth but slightly long. Fits my small wrist perfectly. Love that watch!
