** Update: second bottle was completely different consistency, very watery to the point you could pour it out of the bottle. When applied to hair, it felt like it just "went away." The first bottle was thick, like mayo, and really worked on wet hair. I'll buy a third bottle, but if it's watery like the second, I won't buy again. I bought the unscented version, and I'm happy to say it literally has no added fragrance. That seems obvious, but there are so many products that deceive you by being labelled 'organic' or 'natural' but still contain a mystery chemical 'fragrance' which usually smells like bad perfume. So this smells like, well, crushed plant leaves, or maybe nut oil. Not disagreeable at all. It is very noticeable when you smell it directly, but after the shower it basically has no detectable odor. You won't get those "your hair smells great" comments, but then again you won't get a headache (strong fragrances give me migraines). It works as well as a name brand conditioner. I have medium curly shoulder-blade length rock star hair (I'm a dude) and without conditioner I start to get massive knots that grow into what look like dreadlocks. This conditioner keeps my hair completely knot free, and way less frizzy. Also I appreciate the simple ingredients, lack of things like silicones, artifical colors, etc.

I use this on my boys' hair (18 months old and 4 years old). One has very fine curly hair and one has very think mostly straight hair. It works well on both and sensitive enough that it doesn't bother their sensitive skin. The smell is amazing. I have to keep my kids from trying to eat it actually. It easily detangles the hair and makes both hair types very soft and shiny. It does not make the hair oily or greasy as it rinses out well. Good quality product and good value for the money.

This is the ONLY conditioner I’ve ever used on my daughter (now 3 years old). The first one lasted us probably 18 months and we still love it however it seems that the formula may have changed between the purchase of our 1st bottle and this bottle. The new bottle the conditioner is a lot thinner & runny almost, but it still has the same great scent & works just as well!

I have suffered from breakouts on my back almost my entire life. I have sensitive skin and I'm sensitive to fragrance. Those wonderful smelling shampoos and conditioners run down my back when I wash my hair causing breakouts in their path. Finally this conditioner solved that! But it's not the 1st fragrance free conditioner that I've tried. That's why I was still searching until now. This Alaffia conditioner is perfect for my slightly curly, color treated, fine hair. It gives just the right amount of moisture and shine without weighing my hair down. I pair it with my shampoo bar. I love Alaffia's other products too. For the 1st time ever I can shave with my conditioner because it's fragrance free and doesn't sting, itch or burn like others. If you've never shaved with conditioner you've got to try it! You will get an extremely close shave and it's super inexpensive.

I have Irish curls that are dry without a decent conditioner. That said. It is a stretch to call this a conditioner at all. It’s super thin, the thinnest I have ever encountered. I gave it a shot anyway. It never absorbed into my hair and even though I kept putting more on, it never felt like I had anything in my hair. So I went ahead and tried to comb it through my hair but nope. It was absolutely fruitless. I had to reach for my actual shea butter conditioner to get a comb through my hair. Do not buy this. It’s a big waste of money.

I have very long, thick hair that is prone to tangling, knots, and matting. I do not use any products with artificial fragrance in them, so I have tried many different "natural" brands that have simply not been moisturizing/detangling enough for my hair. This conditioner is the ONLY one I have found in stores that's ingredients meet my standards and detangle my hair! I use it as a shaving cream as well because of it's moisturizing effects. I have used this conditioner for over 2 years now. I will admit that the "Vanilla Mint" conditioner is the only one that has this effect on my hair. The other scents do not seem to be formulated the same, as they do not moisturize as well as this one does. The scent is so pleasant & light--& no artificial fragrance!! I highly, HIGHLY recommend Alaffia's "Vanilla Mint" conditioner for those who are looking for a conditioner that detangles and is one of the cleanest in stores!

I’m so sad that this conditioner doesn’t work for me. I love that it’s fair trade, free of all the harsh ingredients and supports so many good causes. I got the vanilla mint scent which is nice and light, I like the hint of mint. I wish it worked for me. I have wavy/curly hair that’s on the thinner side - I have to use so much conditioner and still am left pulling apart the tangles. I’ve tried putting it in my hair and letting it sit for 60+ seconds as suggested, still doesn’t do the job for me. The conditioner feels slightly watered down, not as thick as many others. It doesn’t feel oily/greasy like others either so if that’s something you’re looking for, this could be good. It rinses out very easily. Maybe it’s just my hair type but it doesn’t untangle my hair without making me fight for it.

Scent is not overpowering at all. This conditioner is the only one that's made my hair so sofft, and my hair barely gets any tangles in it anymore.
