Review: Great introduction to chemistry for later elementary level students - This book gives easy-to-understand but reasonably accurate/precise explanations of all sorts of topics in chemistry. Works as a decent chemistry "spine" for homeschoolers. Like other books in this "What's X all about?" series, there are copious illustrations among the rather small and dense, but again fairly simple, text. The text is not just a series of boxes, but generally does follow and elaborate some line of thought. Generally what you'd expect from an Usborne general intro. Review: Five Stars - Dtr loved it!

Great resource.
As a homeschooler, I am always looking for simple explanations of more complicated concepts. This was it! The illustrations were fun and helpful too.

Very nice book for curious kids. My 12 year old loved it. Concepts of chemistry explained very well More importantly application of chemistry is explained. This convinces the child why he / she has to learn.
